God be with you till we meet again
God be with you, go in peace
My mother died last night at 10:23 pm PDT. My brother and I had both managed to catch flights from the East coast, and arrived late on Wednesday night. We spent the whole day at the hospital with my father and uncle (her brother). She was comatose, and her liver had already failed--the biopsy had revealed that it was completely infiltrated with metastatic cancer too fine to show up in a PET scan.
We're beginning to plan for a memorial gathering at the church she attended here in Claremont. After that, I'll probably head back to VT on Wednesday to start work again. I'll come back out here in August to help Dad sort thorough things.
Thoughts, prayers, and cards are appreciated, but flowers are unnecessary. If you'd like to do more, I'd suggest a donation to the Komen Breast Cancer foundation, or another cancer research/support group of your choice.
Thanks, everyone.
