Will they give us money now?

For the past couple of weeks, in between the 4-6 other shows that I'm working on, I've been writing a set of documents detailing the problems with our lighting systems in the three theatres. This will become a part of a larger capital campaign that we're running, and hopefully people will give us money because of it. It's been a challenge to strike a balance between

1) describing the problems accurately, and as clearly as possible, and
2) not getting too technical, and
3) not sounding too bombastic, and
4) not being too un-technical.

I haven't had to sit down and write things like this for a long time. Or maybe ever.

But we took them to our director of operations today, and he was really happy with them. So that's good. It's just the first step on a long road, however, because he's not the one with the money!
