w/r/t to some things other people have written recently:
1. Even I know the difference between one bass drum and 3 tympani.
Congratulations on a successful concert!
2. I try to "flush" a cold away with lots of water and saline sinus rinse. But that's not as exciting as margaritas or even chili sauce. I do like the ginger, lemon, honey, and hot water concoction. I don't really buy into extra vitamin C--just the normal one-a-day amount. I've read some recent research that indicates that extra doesn't help at all. Your mileage may vary.
Almost everyone I know is sick right now. I'm currently not. Either this means that my immune system is fantastic, or that I'll get sixteen illnesses all at once.
We got some rented dimming equipment the other day. This is fairly straightforward equipment, as things go. Problem was, it didn't really "dim." A normal range of dimming is from, say, 0-100%. These had a range from about 12-40%, with 12% being "barely visible" and 40% being "as bright as it gets, full 120v power." 3 hours with a multimeter, a very small screwdriver, and a lot of patience later, we had them working properly. I can only wonder what the previous renters of this equipment must have done...
