some things
Jun. 6th, 2008 06:26 pmThe strangest food I tried today that I might eat again: Deep-fried dill-pickle
The strangest food that I will likely not try again: bubble tea. I know some people like it, but the sensation of slurping up tapioca bubbles through the straw is just too weird.
(Today was the Taste of Syracuse, a 2-day street fair/food festival/concert. We've never been before, since we're not usually here in the summers. We had fun, despite the disgusting humidity)
Something seems to have happened to the internet connection in our office (I blame the roofers) such that web pages take forever to load and (today) I can't even load the login screen for my University-based email. Arr. Thus, I will combine these other thoughts in this post, because it will take too long to start another one!
Thought 1: I've recently had the experience (more than once!) of running across the name of a person from the past--like in the Alumni Review, or from my high school. Each time, their name has struck a chord in me, as though I had a strong opinion about whether I liked or disliked this person. The thing is, I now can't remember whether I liked them or didn't like them! I do know that they weren't people that I was very close to--by choice or not--but they're probably people I had a couple of classes with, or who were friends of friends.
Thought 2: It makes me sad in a way like no other to discover that people I've known for a while have recently taken up smoking cigarettes.
By the end of next week, I predict that we may begin looking at houses!
