The Internet is for Awesome
Jun. 4th, 2010 10:44 pmIn particular, my brother (who's in South Africa in the Peace Corps) just ran the Comrades marathon, which is 89km (56miles) long, and a huge international event (for crazy long-distance runners, at least...there were 23,000 of them competing).
And, via the power of the internet (and the cool RFID shoe tags the runners have to wear) I can go to the Comrades website, type in his name, and watch video clips of him approaching many of the checkpoints and the finish line. How cool is that?
